Coach Scott will be beginning his second season as the Head
Coach of the Virginia Run Riptide this summer. Before joining the
Riptide he was the Head Coach of the Walden Glen Wahoos
for the last 8 years .
Beyond the NVSL, Scott is the Head Swim and Dive coach at Lake
Braddock where he is also an 8th grade Science teacher. Before his
time at Lake Braddock he was an assistant swim coach for
Westminster College in Pennsylvania.
Scott grew up in the Northern Virginia area swimming in the NVSL
for Fox Hunt. He swam for West Springfield High School and at
Duquesne University. He currently lives in Burke, VA with his wife,
Tamika, and two children Skyla and Hayden.

I moved to Virginia Run in 1996 when I was two and swam on the
Riptide Swim Team from when I was four until 18 for a total of 15
seasons. Since the age of six, I swam competitively year round for
various teams until I found the Riptide under Shandra Wrinkle in
2004. In 2005, when Cub Run RecCenter opened, I joined and stayed
at Florence Emanuel's group until my graduation in 2012. At
Westfield High School, I swam for four years, lettering and
qualifying for districts each season. Beginning in 2010, I helped
out as a coach for the Streamline Aquatics Club, under Florence
Emanuel at the Freedom Aquatics Center. In 2010, I decided I wanted
to spend more time at the pool and picked up a lifeguarding
position as well. I returned in 2011 for a second season as a guard
as well as the closing pool manager. I currently attend Virginia
Tech where I am studying Industrial Deisgn in the School of
Architecture and actively participate on the club team there. Next
year I will serve as Treasurer and Web Administrator for the
2013-14 season. This will be my fifth summer coaching for the
Virginia Run Riptide and I look forward to working with you and
your kids.
